Conductors Retreat at Medomak
The 30th Summer
The Conductors Retreat at Medomak is a proven program of intensive work on the many aspects of conducting and being a conductor. The place where conductors develop as leaders, hone their skills, learn new ones, and take deep dives into the music. The place to study, rehearse, and perform great repertoire in a supportive community of inspiring mentors and colleagues, all by a beautiful lake in the quiet surroundings of the Maine woods.
The perfect place and time to discover new perspectives and open new doors. Distinguished artist-mentors lead a unique program of conducting, score study, aural skills, movement & expression, while developing greater leadership attributes and musicianship. Join us!

The Medomak Difference
Our Mission
To advance conducting, conductors, and the communities they serve by elevating their personal leadership attributes, musical skills, and artistic sensibilities. We empower conductors to achieve musical excellence while developing their capacity to inspire the musicians they conduct, the students they teach, and the institutions they lead.
Diversity
We reaffirm our commitment to combatting systemic racism, achieving diversity, and forging racial equity; sustaining diversity, equity, and inclusion in our repertoire and curriculum, and among our participants, faculty, musicians, board, staff, and audience. We fervently believe that a culture of inclusivity and respect for diverse perspectives is essential to the work of every conductor and the communities they serve.
